  • «“Vestnik Evropy” in 1870s: the program of Russia’s modernization »

    The article is devoted to the ways of correlating the actual problem of Russia’s modernization with the past experience of Alexander's II reforms carried out in 1870-s when the press actively participated in public discussion of the reforms. Materials of liberal magazine “The Herald of Europe” are the valuable historical source reflecting the essence of transformations, the character of modernization and the connection between the process and progressive intellectuals who supported the reformist way of country’s development. According to modern terminology it is possible to assert that, publicists of magazine tried to promote development of organic modernization as they lived in the country that followed a catching up type modernization and estimated the revolutionary option as a successful experience of the past that was possible in their times.

  • «Radio Svoboda in 1950s-1970s: searching for propaganda forms during cold war »

    In post-war years in Munich, zone of the American influence, was gathered about fifty thousand political emigrants from Russia. American diplomats, which observed such concentration of forces, decided (by means of emigrants) to conduct propaganda on the countries of Socialist camp. In 1950—1970 through Radio Liberty was carried out communication between Russian emigrants and their native land, which further turned in fascinating dialogue between emigration and intelligence in Soviet Union. Russian literary tradition has remained in many respects thanks to Radio Liberty. Often literature in Russian abroad survived because of the possibility to broadcast it in Russian for an interested audience.

    Modern PR-technologies inseparably linked with Internet. Especially it concerns the PR-methods applied in the IT-companies, as the most progressive in commercial sphere. Not casually American experts in marketing have put into circulation the new term — consumer generated media (CGM) — for definition of the new network media forms stimulating consumers. PR 2.0 is not only a chance to give the work with journalists and colleagues new forms, but also possibility to communicate directly with clients or consumers.

  • «Current forms and typology models for new media »

    In this article key new media characteristics are analysed which allow to identify main formats and models of new media. The article describes convergence, interac­tivity, digitalization and networking as crucial processes forming the new media con­cept. The following models are characterised as the most successful examples of new media: social networks, blogs and various blog models, news portals and online games. Special attention is drawn to the active and creative role of new media audi­ence in implementing these media models which are analysed not only from the per­spective of content but also through their contribution into realizing relevant social and communicative tasks and activities.

The emphasis remains, however, upon that writing and reporting, more than upon the study of journalism itself.

    The article presents a complex research of the contemporary TV-trailer genre from the communication stylistics point of view. The author reveals the extra- linguistical causes of the genre transfiguration in the modern-day TV trailers, as well as the tactics and strategies of trailer production; the main genre intentions are also determined and follows up on the genesis of the genre. In the article, the essential traits of the genre and rhetoric means of text-handling have been determined, and communicative failures and linguo-ethical concerns analyzed.

    «Qualifying criterion of creativity in the print media works »

    The article addresses the problem of defining the criteria of creativity in the work of the periodical press in the aspect of copyright law to determine clear signs that could identify the presence of creativity in journalistic work in order to assign it to objects of copyright. The article says that this feature may be the availability of the product of at least three related semantic units, at least one of which must contain an analysis, forecast, comment.
