Current forms and typology models for new media

In this article key new media characteristics are analysed which allow to identify main formats and models of new media. The article describes convergence, interac­tivity, digitalization and networking as crucial processes forming the new media con­cept. The following models are characterised as the most successful examples of new media: social networks, blogs and various blog models, news portals and online games. Special attention is drawn to the active and creative role of new media audi­ence in implementing these media models which are analysed not only from the per­spective of content but also through their contribution into realizing relevant social and communicative tasks and activities.
