«Topic as the Genre-Determining Factor for Commercial and State-Owned News Channel Content (Based on CNN and «Rossiya 24» News Channels) »
The article studies possible connection between the topic of a news story and the choice of its genre. Using comparative analysis the author researches thematic preferences of the American and Russian versions of 24-hour news TV-channels, explores the connection between content and genre choice and offers genre-and- topic formulae.

«The Specifics of Emotional States Perception in Informational Communication »
The article presents the study of how respondents perceive and identify the basic emotional states of characters presented in video clips. The clips were demonstrated for respondents on the PC screen. The discriminating indicators for the explored groups were sex and extraversion /introversion. The respondents evaluated characters’ emotional states on the basis of Izard’s “Differential emotions scale” (5- ball scale, 30positions). The authors have detected that emotional state demonstrated to respondent is being identified as a combination of several basic and additional emotions. The extroverts have demonstrated themselves being the most competent in emotional experiences identification.

«The Signs of «Traditionalist» and Post-Modern Aesthetics Convergence (On the Basis of Critical Discourse Regarding A. Bitov‘s Literary Works) »
Active discussion in Russian literary criticism between proponents and opponents of postmodernism as the literary trend has happened at the end of 1980-s — in 1990-s. Today the positions of it‘s former participants are more deliberated. It‘s well known, that texts by A. Bitov were used for argumentation of their points of view by critics of the both (postmodernist and traditionalist) sides. On the example of relations of this author with postmodernist criticism the article shows the features of convergence between “traditionalist” and postmodernist discourses.

«Platonic Epistemology in E.T.A. Hoffmann‘s Poetics (On the Basis of «Cavalier Gluck», «Don Juan», «Golden Pot» Tales)»
The article considers structural characteristics of Romantic tales by E. T.A. Hoffmann, directly dating back to the epistemological model of Neoplatonism. Platonic paradigm of short stories provides universality and polysemy of the narration.

«Netherland Magazine Market at the Time of Pillarization and Today (Exemplified by the Weeklies Elsevier, Vrij Nederland, De Groene Amsterdammer) »
The paper examines transformation of the Dutch magazine market after the dissolution of the pillarization system, i.e. the division of the society into four ‘pillars’, in the Netherlands in 1960—1970s. The study of the three biggest weeklies — Elsevier, Vrij Nederland и De Groene Amsterdammer — revealed trends of the Dutch magazine market’s development in the post-pillarization time, and outlined changes in the target audience of the weekly magazines, their circulation rates, audience reach, the mission of the weeklies under new social and political conditions. The current research showed that the Dutch weeklies underwent a number of changes after the disappearance of the four ‘pillars’; these changes include the decline in circulation rates and the share of weeklies under analysis in the segment of opinion magazines, the transformation of the target audience from supporters of particular political parties to a broader group of people, the shift from party press to ‘catchall media’, etc.

«The Issue of Female Sexual Health in the Russian Media (The Case of Glossy Magazines)»
This article focuses on the theoretical frameworks of sexual health in Russian society based on its historical evolution and the media coverage of these issues. The main focus is paid to the female sexual health following that namely the female sexuality and the changes in its patterns promote better understanding of the general transformation of the Russian society that occurred over the last decades. The authors investigate the contents of different Russian language magazines such as the Russian version of Cosmopolitan, Zhenskoe zdorovye (‘Women's Health’) and Psychologies envisaged as the pioneers in the promotion of this topic. These publications serving the interests of the broad audience play a significant role in promoting the issues of sexual health. Following this, the authors tend to come up with the algorithms of the media position on the issues of sexuality, given that there are still no common priorities about its coverage.
