The article presents the study of how respondents perceive and identify the basic emotional states of characters presented in video clips. The clips were demonstrated for respondents on the PC screen. The discriminating indicators for the explored groups were sex and extraversion /introversion. The respondents evaluated characters’ emotional states on the basis of Izard’s “Differential emotions scale” (5- ball scale, 30positions). The authors have detected that emotional state demonstrated to respondent is being identified as a combination of several basic and additional emotions.
