From Dialogue to Invective?

So far humanities have failed to provide a uniform definition of dialogue. Hence, it is all the more important to understand the sources of this notion. It appears to be closely associated with the idea of cognition and self-cognition, their potentialities and limits. The paper examines the respective views developed on these concepts by A. Potebnia and M. Bakhtin, analyses I. Tourgenev’s novel “Otsy i deti”, Russian journalism.
