Biography
In 1983 he graduated from Cherepovets State Pedagogical Institute. He completed a postgraduate course at the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkinskij Dom) of the USSR Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg), where he defended his PhD dissertation in 1988. In 1998 he defended his doctoral dissertation, and in 1999 he was awarded the academic rank of professor. Since 1997, Alexander Chernov has been Director of the Humanities Institute, Head of the Department of Public Relations, now the Department of Social Communications and Media. In 2021, he was awarded the title of the Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation. He is the member of the Union of Journalists of the Russian Federation.
