Section: History of Journalism

This research aims to study the history of Russian-Thai relations, which was featured in the Thai version of the Sovetskiy Soyuz magazine in 1978–1990 after a period of mass repressions against communists and left-wing movements in Thailand. The conducted content analysis of the magazine articles and other relevant documents makes it possible to draw the following conclusions: 1) The materials regarding the history of interaction between Russia and Thailand reflected the process of humanization of the image of the Soviet Union; 2) Peaceful cooperation played an important role in relations between the two countries.
