The article discusses the formation process of three now official languages of the Grand Duchy as the languages of the Luxembourg print media in the period from the end of the 16th to the first third of the 20th centuries. The author traces the change in the language balance at various stages of the history of the Grand Duchy, reveals the dependence of the superiority of a particular language over the others on the political and economic situation, and examines the attitude of society and the press to these changes on the basis of newspaper materials.
