The paper first analyzes the diary entries of a major poet of the second half of the twentieth century, a native of the Voronezh region, a former prisoner of Stalin‘s camps Anatoly Vladimirovich Zhigulin (1930—2000) on the history of the most popular in the years of Khrushchev‘s «thaw» magazine «New world» and its editor- in-chief Aleksandr Trifonovich Tvardovsky (1910—1971). The author draws the conclusion that the need to begin work on the preparation of the scientific edition of A. V. Zhigulin’s diary is evident.
